Monegros Chilled Beats
A new tribute to The Monegros, the beautiful desert area in Spain that I have just left, after being a resident for a couple of years. The 45 tunes in this mix are the tracks I have been mostly listening to during my last Monegros summer – chilled, progressive beats that are very, very dance-oriented. This mix includes my first mash-up of the ’90s Ibiza chillout classic “3.2” by Humate (Bedrock Ambient Remix), which has been the inspiration for my recent production of a rework of the Balearic classic, Three Point Three (Infinite Burningmax Rework). Burningmax Plays 50 :: Fifty Chill Dance Tunes in the Mix
I just turned 50 years “young”, so I decided to celebrate by mixing 50 tunes! Well, at the beginning I mixed 66 songs (as for Class of ’66), but the mix was too long, over the 6h30m, and impossible to share it on MixCloud – so I had to “cut it down” to 50 tunes. This is a chillout mix you can dance to, and a dance mix you can chillout to – wherever you spin it, you’ll find yourself venturing often in psychedelic territories, and moving from techno to progressive electronica, to house, dubstep and more unexpected takes. My DJ set for the Burning Man event of Roman Burners in November 2016, an experiment I decided to make because after all, this is what Burning Man is about… I normally play techno and other electronica, from acid house to psychedelic beats, but I’ve never played drum’n’bass before, though I’ve been dancing to a lot of progressive D’n’B back in the ’90s. F Trilogy 2/3 :: Shut the Fuck Up and Dance
I haven’t played much live this year, but I’ve been stacking up tons of massive tunes. Last month I figured out that I’ve been listening to plenty of great music that I’ve never shared with anybody else, and what’s worst is that I didn’t even tried to pass it on decks. So I said “Fuck it, let’s empty the summer crates on Traktor and see what happens”. What happened was that the selection alone took almost an entire month… and I ended up with three different mix, even if more than 90% of the tunes didn’t made the selection. Bummer. Anyway, there’s enough music to keep everybody happy: 4 hours of relaxing electronica, 2 hours of uplifting dance music, and further 90 minutes of massive beats – music for all tastes! Since the whole idea started with a “Fuck it” (without the hypocrisy of the asterisks), the decision about the name of this multiple studio DJ set was immediate: introducing Burningmax’s F Trilogy! Take it personally or not, I hope you enjoy it. Burningmax Live 23 :: NeverFuckingStop Festival Paris
Here we go, the NeverFuckingStop Festival has finally arrived. My burners friends PiouPiou, Cocci and Matilduz have been planning to create a Burning Man-inspired festival for some times, and here it is. In a sunny spring day, at the Parc de la Villette in Paris, we took over My Boat, a club with a terrace and a view on the Parisienne channels, where artists, performers and burners gathered all day and night in a creative environment. And of course we danced. A lot. I played a starting set as Morphinauts, but I also had the pleasure and the honor to play the closing set of the night. I admit, this DJ set has been particularly furious, a true techno rave like I haven’t been playing for a while, after my exploration of the power-house beats from Suara – but I liked it, and everybody has been dancing like it’s Berling circa 1996.
